Trans Day of Visibility
Mar 31, 2025
Thought from Clémence Sauty:
Today is Trans Day of Visibility, and I want to say this to every trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming person:
1. Sharing this life with you means the world to me.
2. Your authenticity is a gift — first to yourself. Then to the world.
3. Some will abuse this and demand sacrifice in return for what is already yours.
4. Know your dignity, so you can see through their lies.
5. You deserve safety and kindness simply because you are here.
6. It is no small thing that you are here instead of not.
7. I could cry just thinking about this. In fact, I often do.
8. We are possible - despite what we’ve been told. What else might be?
9. When you rest (rest!), dream of liberation.
10. What would a world without oppression feel like? Stay with that vision for a bit.
11. Presence is another name for our power. And that is incredibly beautiful.
12. Now, let us shine our light with purpose, unwavering and bright.
Psalm 131 (translation from AELF Bible)
O Lord, my heart is not arrogant, nor my eyes haughty; I have no great designs, nor wonderful pursuits that are beyond me.
No, but my soul is still and quiet; my soul is within me like a child, like a little child against its mother.
O Israel, put your hope in the Lord, now and for ever.
