He’s here in the midst of it -
right at the centre of the dance floor,
robes hitched up to His knees
to make it easy to spin.

At some point in the evening
a boy will touch the he of His robe
and beg to be healed, beg to be
anything other than this;

and He will reach His arms out,
sweat-damp, and weary from dance.
He’ll cup this boy’s face in His hand
and say,

my beautiful child
there is nothing in this heart of yours
that ever needs to be healed.

Il est ici au milieu de tout cela -
au centre de la piste de danse,
la robe relevée jusqu'aux genoux
pour mieux tourner sur lui-même.

À un moment de la soirée
un garçon touchera l'ourlet de sa robe
et suppliera d'être guéri, suppliera d'être
n’importe quoi d’autre que cela ;

et Il étendra Ses bras,
trempé de sueur et fatigué par la danse.
Il prendra le visage du garçon dans sa main
et dira,

mon bel enfant
il n'y a rien dans ton cœur
qui ait jamais besoin d'être guéri.
