“This is also Our Christ. Conversations with LGBT+ Christians” is the first book in Poland in which LGBT+ people of faith speak about their experiences with their own voices. The 15 interviews carried out by Marcin Dzierżanowski, a renowned journalist, are a touching testimony to their struggles to reconcile religion and their sexual orientations or gender identities - and a proof that these spheres do not have to be exclusive of one another.

The interlocutors include both well-known figures of the Polish political and cultural sphere, such as social activist Margot, anti-communist opposition heroine Ewa Hołuszko or visual artist Daniel Rycharski, as well as those for whom it is the first opportunity to speak publicly about their experiences, such as a family of two mothers raising children. Former activist Kacper Kalin tells the story of the beginnings of LGBT+ Christians movement in Poland; anti-communist veteran Jarek Strzeszewski reflects on double exclusion due to sexual orientation and mental illness; ex-priest Łukasz Kachnowicz recalls how the “depth” of his “disturbance” was measured at a seminary; parents of a transgender child talk about their engagement in a Catholic parish. And these are only some of the characters in the book.
