Use of Names and Pictures

We, the providers of this website, are part of the LGBTI+ community. We know that, in a lot of countries, it is not safe to be “out of the closet”. This is why the European Forum of LGBTI+ Christian Groups is careful with using names and pictures on this website:

Generally, we only use only first names but no last names.
Some people gave us permission to use their full names or photographs.
Others are public figures, who may be mentioned with their full name and shown on pictures.

If you find your name or picture is on this website and do not agree with that, please contact the webmaster team and it will remove the information immediately. If, on the other hand, you recognise yourself and would like to be mentioned with your full name, please do not hesitate to contact the webmaster team either.

Access Logs

The European Forum of LGBTI+ Christian Groups collects and automatically stores information, which your browser communicates, in its server log files. This information comprises

the page you visited,
the amount of data sent,
the type and version of your browser,
the HTTP referer (i.e., the web page linking to the requested page),
your IP address and
the access date and time.

The European Forum of LGBTI+ Christian Groups cannot assign these data to a particular person and does not combine them with data from other sources. The data are automatically evaluated and deleted after one month.

Web Analytics

We are using the web analytics platform Matomo to analyse the behaviour of the website visitors to identify potential pitfalls (not found pages, search engine indexing issues), which contents are the most appreciated, and so on. For this purpose, we automatically process the following data:

cookies,
your anonymised IP address,
an anonymous user ID,
date and time of your visit,
the title and URL of the page being viewed,
the URL of website that you were referred by,
your screen resolution,
the time in your local timezone,
the files that were clicked and downloaded,
the link clicks to an outside domain,
the page’s generation time,
your country, region, and city, as well as
the main language and user agent of your browser.

The processing of personal data with Matomo is based on legitimate interests. Your privacy is our highest concern. That is why we will not process any personal data with Matomo unless you give us clear explicit consent.

Processing the above-mentioned data helps us identify what is working and what is not on our website. Without the data, we would not be able to provide you the service we are currently offering. Your data will be used only to improve the user experience on our website and help you find the information you are looking for.

The data received through Matomo are stored and processed directly on the same German server the website is hosted on. They are not shared or sent to third parties. We are keeping the data captured within Matomo for a period of one year, after which it is automatically evaluated and deleted.

You may choose to prevent this website from aggregating and analyzing the actions you take here. Doing so will protect your privacy, but will also prevent the owner from learning from your actions and creating a better experience for you and other users.

Contact Forms

If you use one of our contact forms, we ask you for your e-mail address and name (feel free to use an alias of your choice). These will be transferred to and stored by the addressee as an e-mail. The data are handled with care and only for the purpose of fulfilling your request. They will not be transferred to a third person or used for marketing.

Cookies

This website uses “cookies” (small text files, which are stored in your browser) for record-keeping purposes and to enhance functionality on our site. You may deactivate or restrict the transmission of cookies by changing the settings of your web browser. Cookies that are already stored may be deleted at any time.

Captcha

We use Google reCAPTCHA on our websites, a service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. reCAPTCHA is used to check (e.g., in contact forms) whether information is put in to our website by a human or an automated program. For this purpose, reCAPTCHA analyses the behaviour of the visitor based on various characteristics:

your IP address,
the web page containing the reCAPTCHA form,
the date and duration of your visit,
the specifications of your browser and operating system,
your Google account (only if you are logged in),
the mouse-pointer movement on the reCAPTCHA area, and
the tasks, in which you have to identify images.

The analysis starts automatically as soon as you enter the respective page. The data collected during the analysis is forwarded to Google. Data processing is based the General Data Protection Regulation, art. 6(1)(f). The European Forum of LGBT Christian Groups has a legitimate interest in protecting its site from abusive automated crawling and spam. We distribute our newsletter “Rainbow Report” and our press releases using the service Mailchimp (The Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce de Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA). We use the data provided to Mailchimp via its interface only to send you the newsletter or press releases and keep track of our coverage. Your data are stored on their servers securely and only for the duration of your subscription. You can find further information in Mailchimp’s privacy policy.

Disclosure, Deletion, and Suspension

At all times, you have the right to gratuitous disclosure of your personal data, their origin and recipients, the purpose of data processing as well as a right to correction, suspension, or deletion of these data.
