Report from EuroPride in Thessaloniki 2024
Euroforum at Europride: we carried messages of church inclusion and reminded all interested about LGBTI+ affirmative nature of Orthodox theology.
In 2024, the Europride took place in a traditionally and predominantly Orthodox country for the second time (after Belgrade 2022). It was the first occasion to celebrate the progress of such a country in terms of acceptance of LGBTI+ people and respect for their rights: it is this year that Greece introduced marriage equality!

Funds from Dutch Government for European Forum of LGBTI+ Christian Groups
The Board of the European Forum of LGBTI+ Christian Groups is happy to announce that it has received a new grant from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. With the grant the often vulnerable position of LGBTI+ people of faith can be improved.

Report from Spirit Unbounded Conference
The Synod on Synodality – the big event that’s been happening for the last few years in Roman Catholic Church – is finally coming to an end. The bishops (with a small addition of a few lay people, including, for the first time, women) gathered in Rome to bring together ideas and findings from their respective countries, continents and context, to discuss, and to vote.
At the same time a lot of lay people gathered to push their causes forward – among them queer, lgbt+, rainbow Catholics. A number of members of Roman Catholic Working Group of European Forum took part in Spirit Unbounded conference – among them a polish activist Uschi, who shares her experiences.
Matijs and Gabriele: Building Bridges Between LGBTQ+ Communities of Faith Worldwide
Gabriele Mayer and Matijs Mihelmanis have been involved in our working group for World Council of Churches for the past years and in Venlo this year, they formally stepped down from this. We are so grateful for all the work they’ve put down. Here is an interview about their time with the group:
